Connecting the Worlds Below & Above Our Feet.  Soil scientist Luke Cerise will speak about the Highland Wonders in this educational series.  He will discuss soil memory, and how inherent soil characteristics are retained even when dramatic changes happen above ground.   Mr. Cerise will describe some common soil types in our area and why soil types are significant to plants and the rest of the ecosystem and will demonstrate how private landowners can access soil maps & information using the NRCS Soil Survey program.  6:30 p.m. at the Community Cultural Center in Tonasket.  Presentation is free, dinner (at 5:15) is $9 with desserts by donation.
